MERCEDES 208D PLUM-COLOURED LUTON BODY OVER CAB, LUTON VAN. STOLEN 2004/2005.
This van may have been stolen to order, in order to be used for parts, in a fleet of similar vehicles, used by an organisation, that have their own mechanics, who can use the rear axle, the front axle, the gearbox, and the 616/601 engine, which is a legendary engine with cast iron cylinder head that goes on forever. There would be many other valuable parts, such as doors, glass, alternator, starter motor, radiator, and could be used to be parted out, in such a situation as parts for vehicles, that are part of a fleet of these vehicles. The remainder would be cut up with oxy-acetylene, and disposed of.
This van had a roller shutter rear, single rear wheels, a separate three seater cab, apart from the Luton body on the chassis, which is a large box, with a roller shutter rear door, and protrusion of the box body over the cab where the driver and passenger sit, that was aerodynamically slanted to blend in with the T1 body shape.
This van was stolen from the Archway N19 North London vicinity, and unusual markings inside the rear body all over the interior walls, are thousands upon thousands of music business stickers covering the inside walls, such as Marshall, Trace Elliott, various bands, Peavey, Laney, The Bass Centre, The Who, etc. etc. The van had a stair trolley in the part of the rear box over the cab. This stair trolley has three wheels per side, to enable climbing stairs with heavy objects.
